“Quality is not an accident
but the result of hard work”

Potatoes, tubers of the Solanum Tuberosum L. type, play an important role in agricultural production in Europe. Approximately 45 million tons of potatoes are produced annually in the 15 EU countries, of which some 11 million tons are produced in Germany on about 270,000 ha of arable land. Potatoes are not just grown for human consumption but also for processing and for use in industry. Ware potatoes are potatoes that are industrially processed into food. Industry potatoes are usually potatoes that are rich in starch and are used to manufacture alcohol and potato starch for industrial purposes.

Onions, one of the oldest cultivated plants, are still among the most important vegetables. They are highly regarded as an indispensable flavouring and have also been credited with various health benefits.
